Alclad II

Preparation Steps:
Surface Cleaning: Ensure that the surface to be painted is thoroughly clean and free from dust, grease, oil, and fingerprints. This is crucial for achieving a smooth finish.
Primer Application: Use a suitable primer before applying Alclad chrome paint. A glossy black primer is recommended as it enhances the reflective quality of the chrome finish. Lightly polish the primer with 1000/1200 sandpaper to create a smooth surface.

Painting Process:
Airbrush Setup: Alclad chrome paint is ready for airbrush use and does not require thinning. Set your airbrush to spray at a pressure of 12-15 psi. Maintain a distance of 5-10 cm from the surface while spraying.
Application Technique: Apply the paint in light misted coats. It is best to use a narrow to medium width spray fan and coat the model methodically. Avoid heavy applications to prevent runs and ensure an even finish.
Final Touches: After painting, you can gently polish the surface with a micromesh to improve the final finish. For sealing, consider using Aqua Gloss as a topcoat, as it will not dull the metallic shine.

Safety Precautions:
Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in your workspace to avoid inhaling fumes from the paint.
Protective Gear: Wear a vapor mask to protect yourself from paint vapors during application.

By following these steps, you can achieve a stunning chrome finish using Alclad chrome paint, perfect for modeling and other applications.
