Delaware & Hudson Railway Through Passenger Service In Color

There's more text to start off each chapter of the story of the D&H's passenger service than most Morning Sun titles. There are 4 pages of D&H steam power in passenger service to begin the book. Color photographs of older passenger cars in red, two-tone gray, and blue, gray and yellow with silver trucks. Even the older cars in the last passenger scheme look sharp. All of the ALCO diesels in D&H passenger service were well-maintained and are very attractive in the modern paint scheme.

When Frederic C. "Buck" Dumaine, Jr. assumed the presidency of the D&H, he devised a plan to revitalize daytime through service with newer rolling stock. The Delaware & Hudson ran clean, comfortable passenger trains during a time when that was uncommon among other railroads. Although the revitalized service was brief as it came on the threshold of Amtrak, it remains a credit to the D&H and its loyal employees.
