Elgin Joliet & Eastern In Color Volume 3: Facilities and Equipment

The Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway operated over 200 miles of railroad in the greater Chicago and northern Indiana area and advertised itself as the Chicago Outer Belt. This was no short line railroad. This is the finale in the three-volume EJ&E series and examines the rolling stock and facilities of this heavily-industrialized road.

There are many lift bridges, towers, depots, clean locomotives and a small fleet of heavyweight cars maintained for special trains painted in Pullman green presented in this title.
