The seemingly always prosperous "Little Giant" had fallen on hard times late in the twentieth century. A former New York Central subsidiary, by 1979 it had struck out on its own but was caught up in the collapse of the region's steel industry in the mid-1980s. The road finally threw in the towel on September 12, 1992 and was sold to CSX. Take a tour of the last 30 years of this once proud railroad through 300 Color images with captions.
