Bill Gibson, a lifelong Santa Fe employee, began taking color slides of his company in 1955. Bills photographs chronicle the last of steam and the transition from first-generation to second-generation diesels. While his photographic work covered most of the vast Santa Fe system, his principle efforts were in his home state of Kansas.
