SANTA FE TO BNSF: THE TRANSITION YEARS CALIFORNIA 1987-2014

I would guess this title is about 50/50 between older paint schemes and locomotive models than vs. newer BNSF paint and power. Also it is about a 50/50 mix where one photo fills the page and two photos per page is the layout. Photo quality is pretty good and printed on quality glossy paper.

Between 1987 and 2014 Kurt Reisweber took 5 trips to California where he captured many images of the California railroad scene. This book is a collection of those photos, supplemented with photos taken by his father, Bob Reisweber. This is by no means a comprehensive look at the Santa Fe and BNSF but provides a fascinating glimpse of this period of railroading.

Follow Santa Fe diesels in the "War Bonnet" paint scheme and BNSF locomotives as they cross the state from Barstow, to Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.
