U.S. Army-Navy Air Corps AIRCRAFT STEEL 2-oz bottle (Airbrush-ready) Tru-Color Paint SPECIAL ORDER ONLY
This Tru-Color paint is a solvent-based acrylic designed specifically for airbrush use. It features a carefully thinned pigment with Acetone and other media, ensuring smooth application and excellent coverage.
- 2-oz bottle size, perfect for detailed model work
- Solvent-based acrylic formula thinned with Acetone
- Dries to a glossy finish, ideal for decal application
- Requires ventilation during spraying for safe use
- Cleanup is simple with inexpensive Acetone
Unlike many paints that come ready for brush application, this paint’s formulation is too thin for brushing but perfectly suited for airbrush techniques, offering superior control and finish consistency. The glossy finish on all colors except flat or matte allows for a professional look that enhances the appearance of any scale model, particularly when paired with decals. For best results on metal surfaces, primer use is recommended, though it may also benefit plastics and other materials.
Over time, since the paint is packaged in soft plastic bottles, some of the thinner media may evaporate. However, the pigment remains intact and can be rejuvenated using Tru-Color’s 'Rejuvenator' or thinner, extending the paint’s usability. This product is available by special order only, with early Monday ordering and a shipping window of 4-8 days.
Key Technical Advantages: Technology and Performance
This airbrush-ready paint excels with its solvent-based acrylic technology, providing smooth, even coverage with a fast drying time. Its compatibility with decals and primer makes it versatile for modelers who demand high-quality finishes. This specially thinned formula ensures top performance in airbrushing, standing out against standard paint models that may not offer the same level of precision or finish longevity.
