Burlington Northern Oregon In Color

The early era of the Burlington Northern merger shows the predecessor road's paint schemes and early locomotives. ALCO's, first-generation Geeps, covered wagons and more - all miss-matched as to paint schemes. Then early power painted in the BN Cascade Green appear. This book isn't all locomotives, scenes of junctions, depots, bridges and arid scenery complete the book.

With photography starting at the time of the Burlington Northern merger in 1970, the author systematically covered this "backwater" area of the BN. Portland was the heart but branch lines ran through the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Trunk Line headed to California.
