This book is made up of a nice collection of sharp photographs printed on high-quality paper. There is a brief history of the PRR electrification, and the book moves on to the power starting with the DD1 motors. Then the freight-haulers are presented and then the famous GG1 including the 4800 painted in bicentennial colors. About 30 percent of the book are pictures of GG1s in various locations and liveries. MU equipment gets 10 pages of coverage.

Amtrak also makes the pages with E60CHs, Metroliners and Amfleet equipment. The EMD GM1 model and 2 pages of yellow maintenance-of-way motors finish the book.
