New England's Colorful Railroads Volume 1

David Sweetland's color photography trip over the rails of New England (excluding the Boston & Albany) took place during the 1940s and 1950s. His focus is on the motive power and company structures along the right-of-way with steam power included whenever possible. The railway trip ends on the original Springfield Terminal in Vermont where steeple-cab motors ruled.

Enjoy the selection of scenes from more than 50 years ago before color film was commonly exposed on railroad equipment.
